UVA / Padova T1DMS は、グルコース・インスリン動態の食事モデルに基づいた、ヒトの代謝システムのコンピュータシミュレータで、1型糖尿病の新しい治療戦略の前臨床試験における動物実験の代替法として、2008年にFDAによって認可された最初のインシリコ糖尿病モデルです。
提案された臨床研究と同じ治療プロトコルのシミュレーション・テストや、糖尿病の管理や治療への影響を測定することを主な用途にしており、食事の量やタイミング、インスリンの投与量やタイミングを変更したり、高血糖と低血糖の検出・測定ができるよう実際の生活環境がモデル化されています。
